Q:Does North Hampton have a city income tax?
A: No, However there is a 1% earned income tax assessed by Northwestern Local Schools.

Q:Is North Hampton a Chartered Village?
A: No, North Hampton operates under title 7 of the Ohio Revised Code.

Q:Does North Hampton have it’s own zoning and building inspections?
A: Yes, North Hampton has it’s own zoning code that it enforces (Look Under “Departments” for Zoning code). This is usually the first step in new construction. The Building inspections are all handled by Clark County Building inspectors.

Q:Does the village Police do Vacation checks?
A: Yes, If you are leaving your home for an extended period of time please contact the police department to have them periodically check your home. It is important for them to know if you have a security system as they will check the doors to make sure they are locked and this may set off the alarm.

Q:I am installing a swimming pool are there any restrictions or procedures?
A: Yes, There is a requirement to fully enclose the pool with a fence and locking gate. There is a charge for filling the pool.

Q:Is the Village water fluorinated or softened?
A:No, The water is not fluorinated. Yes it is softened but we target 12 grains of hardness which is considered Semi-hard.

Q: What are the Park hours?
A: Sturgeon Park is open usually from March though October From Dawn to Dusk. For reservation check under “department” tab.

Q: How often does the Village council meet?
A: The Council meets once a month on the Second Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm at 250 W. Clark St. North Hampton, Ohio 45349.

Q: Is the public welcome at the council meeting?
A: Yes, this meeting is a public meeting to conduct the business of the village. We welcome all who want to observe and/or participate.

Q: If I have an emergency is there a special number to call?
A: No you call 911 as all Fire and Police calls are dispatched by Clark County through the 911 system.

Q: Can I burn in the Village?
A: Yes, but burning is limited to fires for food consumption. Please check the burning ordinance under the “New to the Village” tab for other restrictions.

Q: Do I need a permit for a Garage Sale in the Village?
A: No permit for garage sales.

Q: How do I turn on the water or transfer it into my name?
A: Call (937)964-1362 or fill in the form located under the “Department” tab for Sewer and water

Q: I have a rental property in the village can the tenant be sent the bill?
A: No, because water and sewer charges are charged against the property not an individual person. The owner of the property has full responsibility for payment of water/sewer bills because if not paid they will be certified against the property and added to the Tax bill with all fee’s from the county and the village.
